FOR the first six months of this year, the President’s Coun- cil on  Bioethics met to consider the moral, biomedical, and human significance of human cloning in order to advise President Bush on the subject. The council’s report, Human Cloning and Human Dignity: An Ethical Inquiry, was issued in July, and a paperback edition has just been published by Public Affairs.
