WE refer to Robert S. Pindyck’s discussion of our book, Energy Future, in his essay, ‘The American Energy Debate’ (The Public Interest, Spring 1980). We are sure there is ample material in our book that can be criticized. We regret, however, that Mr.  Pindyck chose to criticize the book for material that it does not contain. Indeed, he attributes statements to us that, in fact, do not appear in the book.
