WE all ought to read Bernard-Henri Levy, but I doubt that many of us will. Even in this good English translation, Barbarism With a Human Face speaks French. Levy writes against the French Left; even more importantly, he is writing for it. And so, to do him justice, we must know something of these enemies of his, among whom alone he still hopes to find friends.
