CONTROVERSY - Are Teachers Underpaid?

MYRON LIEBERMAN, who once ran unsuccessfully for the presidency of the American Federation of Teachers, does not really answer the question, “Are Teachers Underpaid?” (Summer 1986).  Instead, he devotes most of his article to arguing that “the teacher unions are in the business to achieve more, not less, favorable terms and conditions of employment for teachers.”
